Me on NCLB

by Marie Gryphon on February 22, 2005 · 3 comments

After suffering heartless rejection by the Wall Street Journal and running in (apparently) only the dead tree version of the Newark Star-Ledger, my NCLB oped is finally online courtesy of a Florida paper today.

Teaser line: “NCLB has states and feds smiling thinly across a mountain of paperwork like two cheating spouses in front of the children.”

That’s not a bad article. That’s great that you were published!

I’m always getting published anymore. The trick is to be published in papers from places anyone’s ever heard of. Hope you’re well, Jim!

Actually, I’m not Jim. (Those are my real initials, though.) I mean who in the heck is he?! One of your zillions of admirers I ASSUME. Hasty, hasty, hasty, Marie! It’s not good for an intellectual to be hastily making assumptions. Human beings are like that, though — they make a lot of assumptions. I sure hope you didn’t do something like send pictures of yourself naked to that email address I left assuming it was this Jim guy! Well, gotta run — to check my email, of course! Take care and have a great day!

Sincerely,

Someoneinseattle
